Christmas celebration at the National Harbor.

The National Harbor is less than 10 minutes from the base and is awesome! It's one of our favorite places we've visited since we moved to DC. There are several streets lined with little shops, and the whole place is decorated beautifully for Christmas. All the trees on one particular street were decorated with small green tea lights; Gabriel called them "green marshmallow lights" :)

The focal point of the festivities is the huge Christmas tree they have decorated at the marina. They also have lights up along the dock and the two are coordinated for a fun light and music show prior to a short but great fireworks display. We had walked almost the end of the dock when the fireworks began and realized we were in the best place possible; they were shooting them from a boat less than 100 feet from where we were standing! The boys were scared to death but Ben and I enjoyed them!

If you're ever in the DC area for Christmas, we highly recommend adding the National Harbor to your list of things to see!
